In our previous post, we’ve talked about the other returning players coming back for Survivor Edge of Extinction, Joe Anglim, Aubry Bracco, and David Wright. There’s only one returner left in this season: Kelley Wentworth. Today we will do a brief overview of her game and talk about what we expect her to bring to this season of Survivor.
Kelley (aka “Wentworth”) has truly had the full Survivor experience. In her first season (29), she was an early, pre-merge boot and we did not get to see much of her game unfold. Luckily, the fans really enjoyed what little time they had watching her and she was voted on to compete in Survivor Cambodia Second Chance. Wentworth found much more success in this season and made it all the way to final four, but was voted out right before final tribal. She was able to find two idols during her time and played them both very strategically and at the right time. In fact, one of her plays was so grandiose that there is name for it. Survivor fans know this as the “Wentworth Idol Play.” Basically, she changed the course of the game when her idol denied 9 votes cast against her. Plus, she even made a pretty good fake idol, even if it didn’t turn out the way she wanted. Wentworth also won two immunities, had a good social game, and knows the game of Survivor all around. She also had to be quite crafty while playing since she was mostly on the bottom. And she gets extra points for doing this in a season of very talented returners.
I may be on the bottom, but I’m not ready to go home yet
-Kelley Wentworth, Cambodia Second Chance
There’s no doubt that Wentoworth has the ability to win this game. Based on her interview with Entertainment Weekly, it sounds like she’s going to play a very similar game as she did last time and has one goal only: to win. Wentworth is going to have to work on her social skills to get past being a threat in the beginning. If she can get past the beginning of the game, she is very likely to get far. With the new twist, Edge of Extinction, she is more likely to come out on top as proven by her ability to climb up from the worst circumstances. Kelley Wentworth is ready and able.
Everyone at The Infinity Torch is very excited to see Wentworth play again and hope that she aligns with some other returners. Her starting tribe is with David Wright and she stated in her interview with Entertainment weekly that she gets a good vibe from him and can see herself working with him at some point in the game. Excited we are!
How do you think Kelley Wentworth and the returners will do? Will they all work against or with each other? Do you agree with our thoughts? Let us know by commenting, emailing us, or tell us on our Instagram @theinfintytorch!
