There are four returning castaways to Survivor this season, among them is Joe Anglim. (Check out David Wright and Aubry Bracco’s cast assessment by clicking to our homepage!) In this post we will discuss Joe’s game play in past and how we predict this season of Survivor will play out for him.
Joe’s game in the past is mostly based on his incredible challenge ability and the survival aspect of this game. He gets along well socially and although his strategy is good, it definitely has much room to grow. What makes Survivor extra hard for Joe is that he always has a huge target on his back because everyone knows how gifted he is at challenges. For Joe, it’s typically either win immunity or die. Overall, his game is pretty simple but so overachieving and most of America is in love this guy.
As far as him returning to Survivor Edge of Extinction, we believe the new twist to the game favors Joe the most out of all of the returners. In order to survive Edge of Extinction, you need to have a strong will, be good at survival, and be great at challenges to get back in. Joe is basically the definition of all these things, so if Joe ever goes to Edge of Extinction, we think he would be able to make it back into this game. Despite Edge of Extinction, it will be very hard for Joe to win and will need to make close relationships in the beginning of the game. If he does this, people may idolize him and I can see a repeat of what happened with Boston Rob in Redemption Island. Even that, his tribe will probably keep him around for a while since he will be an asset to his team. But, once the merge hits, people will most likely be aiming to vote him out and Edge of Extinction won’t be there forever-sorry Joe.
In his pre-game interview with Entertainment Weekly (found here), it sounded like Joe was ready to come out and win. He doesn’t live with regrets and believes that this is his time to win.
