Edge of Extinction Episode 4

Episode 4 saw Rick sent home…but there is a lot that happened before then. First the tribe swap! I have been watching Survivor for a long time and nothing like this has ever happened. Five Kama players returned to Kama, five Manu players went to the new tribe Lesu, and finally four Kama players along with Wendy went to the Manu tribe. Wendy was the only player to be a different former tribe than her new tribe mates.

So Wendy was the odd one out, but this was nothing new to her. In episode 3 she was determined not to let the chickens be killed and eaten… she even went as far as stealing the flint. This episode Wendy continued in her pursuit to save the chickens by releasing them in the middle of the night! Now I don’t know about you, but this seems a little bit crazy. It seems like Wendy is willing to sacrifice her whole game to do what she feels is right. Maybe Wendy doesn’t consider the long term effects of her actions? I am not quite sure… what do you guys think? Luckily, Wendy didn’t have to worry about going home as Manu succeeded in the immunity challenge.

Unfortunately, Lesu did not win the immunity challenge and faced a brutal tribal council. Now Lesu was made up of David, Rick, Wardog, Kelley, and Lauren all formerly in an alliance…this is perfect until they lost. Within this alliance though there were clear divisions. David and Rick were very close, and Kelley and Lauren were close. That left Wardog in the middle, but I had a gut feeling that he was going to vote with Kelley and Lauren for Rick. I assumed this was the way Wardog was going to sway because he seems very close to Kelley. In the last tribal he betrayed Chris in order to protect Kelley because she was his tighter ally. In the end it didn’t come as a surprise that Rick was the one going home.

The only thing I found surprising is that Kelley wasn’t making a move against David. It is pretty clear neither want to work with each other in the long run, and David has already attempted to take Kelley out. Kelley is closer to both Wardog and Lauren than David so David was right that he didn’t have the numbers to blindside Kelley. But on the other hand Kelley ultimately had the numbers and could have made a move on David. The reason I think she didn’t was she didn’t realize that Wardog was with her, and she still doesn’t know that David was organizing her blindside in episode three. Regardless, I think that the two of them will be making moves in the future to get each other out… but how cool would it be if they formed a power alliance. This is unlikely, but nothing is certain on Survivor.

Tomorrow is episode 5, and The Infinity Torch is super excited to see what this crazy game brings. One final note… Keith and Reem were very hostile towards Chris at the Edge of Extinction. Will this continue with Rick? That is all for now and let us know your thoughts down below!
